TPOL!

In this WEX writing I feel like it shows how much I've improved on my writing. In most of my WEX writings, I try to think about what the writer would like. Something mysterious, something comical, something interesting, and I try to throw it into my writing. Perspective is really important because nobody thinks the exact same way. So we must put ourselves in other people's shoes. I once wasn't thinking about how someone else might think of something and I ended up hurting their feelings. Right then I told myself I need to start putting myself in other people's shoes.

Evelyn Glennie

What will you remember about her performance?
-What I will remember about her performance is that she played the music SO well and she couldn't even hear it through her ears herself. I think she made everybody, including me, realize that you don't just need ears to listen to music.

Describe what it felt like listening to her play. What factors helped create this moment?
-She really got into the music when she was playing the Marimba and the drums. When she first started playing, she was just hitting a couple of notes, and then she started playing actual music later on and it sounded perfect and I could feel it throughout my body.

What elements of her performance influenced what the audience heard?
-When she played the Marimba, I really felt the music through my whole body and not just my ears. I could definitely feel the vibrations through out my head, stomache, arms, and legs. I never would have realized that until she played for us.

What did she mean by, "Each person experiences music in their own way"?
-Everyone has their different tempo and beat that they prefer. I personally like fast, upbeat music. We all feel different things when we listen to the same music. And she wasn't trying to make us all feel the same thing.

Goals

Mysics

Goals: I want to try to understand what we're learning instead of giving up right away. Another goal is I want to turn in all of my work on time.

First step to completing goals: Raise my hand in class and questions/for help. And I need to stop procrastinating with all of my work.

SLOB- What I Did This Weekend

Lily's Journal Entry

Today I sat out by the wailing wall reading all of May's notes. I sat under a very big, blossoming tree collecting my thoughts. "What if T-Ray finds me? What's going to happen from here? Am I going to live with August forever?" As these thoughts ran through my mind, I heard the sound of foot steps walking near me.
Rosaleen stopped a few feet infront of me. I kept my head down in between my knees not knowing what to say. Rosaleen walked forward and sat down right next to me. She threw her dark, heavy arm around me and I lifted my head up. "What are we going to do Rosaleen? What if we get caught?" I asked. She just told me that I need to let everything go and wait for things to fall into place.
After May's death, we weren't sure what to do. I felt terrible for lying and I'm sure Rosaleen did to. I was afraid that things wouldn't be the same in the Calender Sister's home and they might want us out of their house. Where are we supposed to go from here?

Favorite Fictional Hero

My favorite fictional hero is Indiana Jones. He might not be a super hero, or an actual "hero" to most people, but I believe he is. It's not the super powers that makes someone a hero, it's what they do for other people. They don't do it to make themselves feel better, they do it to make the other people feel better. That is why I think Indi is a hero. He is always putting other people's needs infront of his own and is never selfish. Whenever he puts his mind to something he doesn't give up on it until he succeeds. What really makes Indiana Jones a hero is that when he goes looking for the treasure and artifacts, he doesn't keep them for himself, he gives it to the society. I hope that you all can see how Indiana Jones is a hero.
